Help with a 6 month old baby's crappy sleep routine?

My 6 month old son wakes up every 2 hours almost to the minute every night all night, he only feeds every 4-5. He goes to bed after his bath at 7pm, I'll feed him and he falls asleep. I put him in his crib and he'll sleep for a few hours (2-3) then he wakes up. I'll put his pacifier back in and he falls asleep almost instantly. But every 2 or so hours he wakes up crying and its usually just to put his pacifier back in. I almost never pick him up to soothe him back to sleep unless he is frantic. I don't even talk to him just soother back in a little pat on the back and that's it. Anyone else gone through this??? Any help is appreciated, i'm considering taking the pacifier away since its the root of all my trouble any suggestion with that? He used to sleep 4-5 hours and just wake for feedings, but not anymore! I'm soooooo tired.
