Why Does Ric Flair Diss Bruno Sammartino?

There was a lot of controversy in Ric Flair's book. I read that book anout two years ago and couldn't put it down. It was very insightful look into the wrestling business and how he got his start. He did not feel Bruno Sammartino's wrestling skills were on par with the wrestlers in the NWA. He felt he could put wrestlers in holds but that was about it. Flair certainly did not feel what the big deal was about Sammartino and felt his NWA wrestlers like Harley Race were better. I do not agree with his essment of Sammartino but you could be making a good point. He also criticized Randy Savage and Bret Hart despite only having a handful of matches with Bret he still made some critical comments of Bret when they wrestled late 1992 for the WWF World title. He felt the matches were horribly wrestled.
